A day in the life of… our Parts and Logistics Supervisor

Our team are one of our core strengths – it’s their hard work and expertise that enables us to provide clients with pioneering forklift forks and attachments and unrivalled services.

In recognition of this fact, we’ve decided to shine the spotlight on some of our team members to find out more about the role they play here at Invicta. Next up on our list is Paul Hilton, our Parts and Logistics Supervisor:

Q. How do you get ready to start the day?Invicta-team-paul

A. I usually wake up at 6am, have a shower, get dressed, eat a bowl of cereal, and then I’m out the door ready for whatever the day throws at me.

Q. What is the most challenging part of your job/day and why?

A. Making sure stock is available on time to meet our despatch dates. We manufacture on-site and to stock, not to order, which means we have the widest range of forklift attachments and forks on our premises at any one time. (Find out more about our product range here).

Our extensive stock-holding capabilities also means we can provide our clients with the products they need, when they need them, as many of our standard attachments are available for immediate despatch.

Q. What do you most enjoy about your work?

A. I’d have to say working as part of the rapidly-growing Invicta team. Everyone’s got their own expertise and we all work together to achieve the ultimate goal of keeping our customers happy.

Q. What are the most important tasks of your day and why?

A. Liaising with our suppliers. This enables our warehouse staff and drivers to deliver our forklift forks and attachments to our clients on time and amend their deadlines in line with supply chain changes.

Q. Which tasks do you carry out every day?

A. Creating re-order lists which I use to replenish our extensive stock levels. We’re renowned for our stock levels and this is something we’re proud of. It means we can respond to our customers’ requests in a timely manner.

You’ll also find me forward planning deliveries, collections and routes. This enables us to turn around orders within just two to three days, or even the next day, rather than two to three weeks. If it’s urgent, we’ll pull out all the stops!

Q. How do you deliver the ‘Invicta difference’ within your role?

A. I’m approachable and always on hand to help my fellow colleagues and clients, whether they need a standard or bespoke forklift truck fork or attachment.

Q. How many different parts do you deal with in a typical day?

A. Now that’s a tricky question! We stock so many parts within our warehouse, it’s difficult to put a figure on how many components we have at any one time. I’d say roughly between 40 and 50, ranging from IAP-6 Access Platforms to IATS-2D Auto-Lok Tipping Skips.

Q. Describe your job in one word.

A. It’s difficult to answer in one word, but a few would be challenging, rewarding and… busy! I’d also have to say satisfied as I leave work satisfied we’ve exceeded the expectations of our customers.

We hope you’ve found this Q&A with Paul enjoyable and insightful. In the meantime, if you’d like to find out more about our bespoke forklift attachment capabilities or discuss your forklift attachment requirements with us, contact us on 0113 277 1222 or sales@invicta-attachments.co.uk.
